About Etang Ulysse
Etang Ulysse is the new lake in the Champagne region of France. The famous town of Lassicourt has been given a great location. Etang Ulysse is a former gravel quarry of 4 hectares, creating beautiful depths in the water! It is therefore advisable to use a echo sounder on your boat or bait boat. More than 4 years ago, more than 500 carp were released on this water. Since then the water has hardly been fished.

The water
It is nice to go out on the water by boat, there’s something extremely satisfying about placing your rig rather than casting and it adds to the adventure of angling! Just don’t forget to bring and put on your life jacket!

There are varying depths up to 5 meters and many shallow areas to target as well so don’t forget to leave a line here. There is a large plateau in the middle of the water to look out for too, this can be a very productive spot. There are many carp between 10 and 15 kilos, but this average weight will certainly increase due to the owner committing to a regular feeding regime with pellets, grain and corn to keep the carp in top condition, growing healthily.

The lakebed consists of sand and gravel, in short there are hard spots everywhere. It is advisable to buy pellets from the owner as fishermen are familiar with this. During the day it is possible to catch fish on sight, which can be extremely exciting. It is possible to fish from different spots / swims at Etang Ulysse. The most luxurious of these is from the accommodation, but a total of 4 swims have been created. You can decide where you want to fish. Note that where the swims have not been created, the shore edges are made of gravel, which slides when you walk on them.

Location
Etang Ulysse is 6 hectares in total and is located on a main road (D-396) just outside Lassicourt, so you still have noise from traffic at the moment. This can be experienced as a slight nuisance, but the owner has planted several trees that will soon serve as a sound barrier as they mature. The cottage is about 400 meters from the road. The site is completely fenced off and enclosed, which is very pleasant for your pet! They can run freely within the grounds. The gate is closed with a numeric code. Etang Ulysse is approximately 3 kilometers from Brienne Le Chateau, where there are two large supermarkets, a bakery, a tobacconist, several restaurants, etc.

Accommodation
The accommodation at Etang Ulysse is small, but practical and tidy. The large covered terrace makes you feel like you are living outside and on holiday. It is possible to fish with 3 or 4 anglers from the accommodation making it a great venue for socials.

A beautiful stone accommodation has been built on the long side of the water. The accommodation actually consists of one large room, with a separate shower and toilet area. Furthermore, there is a fully equipped kitchen, with gas stove, fridge, freezer for your bait, a double bed and a fold-out 2-person sofa bed. In total there are 4 sleeping places. But for pleasant use, we advise 2 people to stay in the accommodation. Furthermore, a dining area,TV and a beautiful terrace completes the scene. Pillows, duvets and bed linen are provided. You have to do the final cleaning yourself! Pets are allowed. A top location for families, or for carp anglers who would like a little more comfort.

Bivvy
On Etang Ulysse it is also possible to fish with the bivvy. Several places have been created for this. But it is useful to bring extra long pegs and a hammer. Because the ground is gravel and you need to place pegs at about 6 inches deep to grip effectively. You can place a bivvy on the created places. Or possibly higher on the bank, you can decide what’s comfortable for you.
